Yesterday & Today.......

Rocky looked so sweet & peaceful snoozing in the warm sunshine....

I had a 'God Moment' yesterday afternoon......the boys had gone hunting, Ashley was upstairs taking a 3 hour practice SAT test & so the house was really quiet.....just me & Alli down here with the Christmas music playing softly in the background....she was toting water back & forth to the living room filling up the big water pot that sits on top of the wood stove & I was in the kitchen chopping onions & peppers for the chili I was making & it just kind of dawned on me...............this is what it's gonna feel like NEXT year this time with Ashley away at school................ It was just kind of like, OH! I'm so gonna miss that girl when she goes off to school. *sniff, sniff*

Just a pretty picture of our supper last night.....chili & corn bread. Yum!

Rocky had hopped up on the couch today for a little snooze & for some reason Alli decided he 'needed' all his toys with him for comfort, I suppose. Anyway, I just thought it was too cute of a picture to pass up.

I've been working on finishing up some of my Christmas projects. I started on this yummy lap afghan a few months back & was just getting around to putting the finishing touches on it this afternoon. I've been so inspired by this new 'Hooky' blog I found called Attic24

She really does the most amazing work.....she especially rocks the Granny Squares. Be sure & check out her blog. Lots of eye candy....you won't be sorry!!

So, I've been totally 'wrapped up' (ha!ha!) in my crocheting since stumbling across this new blog. Was so pleased with myself for finishing up this project....because now I'm wanting to start on some new stuff. Think I'm gonna give her striped Grannies a go....gonna practice with some dish cloths....they should be just the perfect size for practicing.

Sorry for all the pictures, but I just wanted to show this one off. Hoping the recipiant will enjoy snuggling with this little blankie. It is the softest yarn I've felt in a long time & the name makes it all the better......It's called 'Chocolate Cupcake'. Mmmmmm!

****************

Well, along with all my crocheting.....we managed to get the house decorated today. I was SO glad that Ashley pulled her nose from the books long enough to help us decorate! We had the Christmas tunes cranking & we were totally lost in the magic of Christmas! Such an awesome time of year!!

Makin' My List & Checkin' It Twice.....

I don't ever make a Christmas wish list for myself, but this year I had a few things that I was needing/wanting & decided that just for fun I'd post my ideas here.First of all, I've really been wanting a new Bible cover. Mine has gotten pretty sad. I love this green one & I also saw the cutest Vera Bradley ones on ebay. I just might have to put an order in with my 'Favorite Quilter' (wink, wink, Sandee)......I'm sure she could blow Vera Bradley away!

This is the dessert/pie/cake rack I've been wanting. I found it at Target online for only about $16.

And I'd LOVE me some new 'Bean' slippers. Theirs are just the best!!

And below are a few books by Sharon Jaynes that I'd love to have.....

...especially this last one.

Today

Today's been a full day...
Church this morning.....really special time of dedication for the Tyree family.....the adoption of Alec & Lora Tyree is finally official & Pastor Steve prayed a special dedication prayer for their family this morning & then Matt & Donna presented the kids with special rings they had made for each of them. It was so neat....we have prayed for them for such a long time now!
Home from church & ate some lunch....
Then I got busy baking that double batch of chocolate chip cookies I had made up yesterday....some for us & some for Chris to take back to school with him.
While I was in baking mode, I decided we had quite a few apples in the frige that needed to be used up......so I made a double batch of apple-cinnamon muffins.....some for Chris to take & some will be for OUR breakfast in the morning.
In between pans of cookies, I worked on getting some lessons together for this coming week....
Folded up laundry & TRIED to make sure Chris had all his clothes.....I found just ONE Tshirt that got left....guess he can live without that one until Friday when I take it to him.
Supper time.....we had eggs, bacon, french toast with powdered sugar & hash browns.
Chris left after supper about 6:30....had to get back in time to spend some time with Ashley tonight......
Now, I'm sitting here blog-hopping & working on some of my crocheting...... Here's a peek at what I'm working on right now.......
Caps for some little boys on my Christmas list. Hope they like them. ;-) Kind of tired now.....think a nice cup of coffee is in order.....& maybe a chocolate chip cookie to go with it!

Christmas Offering

Over the skies of Bethlehem appeared a star
While angels sang to lowly shepherds
Three Wiseman seeking truth they traveled from afar
Hoping to find the child from heaven
Falling on their knees they bow before the humble Prince of Peace

**************

We bring an offering of worship to our King
No one on earth deserves the praises that we sing
Jesus may you receive the honor that you're due
O Lord I bring an offering to you

***************

The sun cannot compare to the glory of your love
There is no shadow in your presence
No mortal man would dare to stand before your throne
Before the Holy One of heaven
It's only by Your blood
It's only through Your mercyLord, I come

*************

I bring an offering of worship to my King
No one on earth deserves the praises that I sing
Jesus, may you receive the honor that you're due
O Lord, I bring an offering to you

Ponch

How many of you guys used to watch CHIPS? C'mon.....admit it.....you know you did!Interesting little tidbit......Erik Estrada's mother-in-law is related to us somehow...somewhere down the line. Related enough that she has come here to our family reunion for years now.

Anyway.....as the girls & I were standing in Starbucks today waiting for our drinks, I just happened to notice this up on the wall. Ashley said I had commented on it before, but you know....as Wen said today.....after 40, sometimes ya just forget.

I thought that was pretty cool & decided it would be my 'Picture-of-the Day' today.

Happy Thanksgiving

We were so thrilled to have Granny, Papaw, Brian, Amy & Eli here with us for Thanksgiving dinner today. We really had a good time, their visit was just much too short. Clay, Jon & Brian in 'deep' conversation.

Eli & Amy

Uncle Clay & Eli.....he says, HI!

Jon & Ashley....sipping coffee & looking at the sale papers.

Granny, Clay & Eli

Michael & Chris checking out the sales

Clay & Eli.....ridin' on a pony, goin' to town......
Yeah, I'm cute....

Eli loves for Amy to sing this little jingle from a commercial.........
'I got a brand new pair of roller skates'
he would get SO excited every time she'd sing it....it was so funny!

The Bunner Family Christmas photo......thanks Amy! ;-)

Church Thanksgiving Dinner

Steve & Kathy graciously opened their home to us all tonight as we celebrated our church Thanksgiving dinner. Lots of good food & wonderful fellowship! This was just the dessert table....the counters & island were filled with turkey, ham, dressing, potatoes, mac 'n cheese, hash brown casserole, green beans, rolls & lots of other stuff I'm probably forgetting at the moment. Sandi & Jerry were banished to eat in the corner with the potted plants.....LOL.....just kidding.

While the adults fellowshipped.....the kids were both upstairs & in the basement playing video games & just hanging out. Oh & there were nerf guns involved too!

Some of the girlies.....Emily, Cori, Alli with AJ (Air Jordan) the cat, Ashley & Taylor

AJ finally had enough of all the kiddos & claimed her spot on the couch!

Taylor loves Logan to pieces & I think the feeling is mutual. Right here is proof positive as to the good things I see happening because our teens are working with the nursery classes at church. They're building relationships with these little ones...learning things that will help them be good parents one day.

A few houses up from Steve & Kathy was this 'Griswald' house. I just HAD to snap a picture.....even though it was blurry......these lights were constantly blinking & changing plus there was music playing too! LOL

We had such a fun evening together. Lots of good memories made!!
