As mentioned a couple posts earlier, we are going 'Mad About Sketches' over at Cookin' Up Creations this month. Sunday I got to start the month off with a brand new sketch/inspiration challenge.
Happy April, ladies! I'm posting this a tad early because I'm not sure if I'll have time in the morning or not. This month we are going a little 'Sketch Crazy' around here. While browsing around Blogland today, I came across this awesome bit of inspiration. If you have some free time, check out 'Girls Just Wanna Scrapbook'.
Here is the amazing sketch/color inspiration for you:
.....and here is my example:
I just fell in love with this color combination & those little strips are to die for! What a way to use up all those scraps. ;-) And speaking of scraps......I needed a couple of Easter cards & so after doing the layout, I took the leftovers & made these cute cards.
Yesterday, Patti gave us this sketch & said we needed to create our embellishments with something from nature.
Here's my layout of Michael & his 'Big Mama' snowman that he made just a few weeks back. I used a tiny sprig of cedar & straw for my 'nature' embellies......to mimic the snowman's lovely hair.
This snow layout wasn't done for any particular challenge....just for the fun of it. This was that Sunday snow we got back toward the end of Feb.....when Wendy was up visiting for the weekend. The quote reads:
'The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a MAGICAL event.'
