Dentist, Wood-splitting & Fire

Finally got Jon to the dentist this morning. Amazing check-up.....they said his teeth were so good they didn't even bother with the flouride treatment & instead of seeing him again in 6 months they said they'd just see him in a year. Wow! Found out he does have FOUR wisdom teeth....but all four are coming in properly & he seems to have room to accomodate them, so we will leave them be for now. What a blessing!!Was sitting here checking emails after lunch & realized as I was looking out the window that Michael was receiving wood-splitting lessons from Clay. (so what subject does this go under in my transcript-keeping records?) Jon is an old pro with the maul...so usually he does the splitting & Michael does the stacking. I guess Clay felt that Michael was ready to tackle some splitting now too. By the time I grabbed my camera though he had already busted up the big ole log he was working on & they were ready to fire up Mason's splitter.
Peaches wanted to join in on the fun.....

This is all that's left now of the big ole pine tree that once stood in the side of our yard. Clay & the boys have been cutting & burning on it off & on for a while now trying to totally get rid of it so they can plant our fruit trees over here. Skippy said they could move the electric fence to the far side of this area, so our little orchard will actually be on the edge of our yard & the cows won't be able to get near the trees.

The boys have had such a blast tending to the fire when they burn out here. They went back outside last night after supper & were out there til about 9pm when I had to call them to come in. They were sitting by the fire & each had a big ole stick & they were whittling & making up all these 'Tall Tales'. They were so excited when they came in to show me their sticks....how smooth they felt & how sharp the ends were. Now isn't that the way you want your boys to be spending their time instead of in front of the TV or video games?!

Amy.....I need some 8X8 decorated pages that I can write a recipe on...
{Can I bribe you} to make them for me??
The recipe pages I am doing are:
Chicken Enchiladas and 3 other recipes that I haven't decided on yet, most likely desserts!
They can be on any cardstock that is 8x8 because they are going into page protectors....don't have to be fancy or expensive, just cute....
If you leave me space, I will write the recipes on later...

OH, and on the enchilada one, I have a picture to add...and on one other (doesn't matter which one).
