Her Mother's Hope

Just a couple of favorite quotes from the book I just finished reading--- 'Her Mother's Hope' by Francine Rivers:

'You know what Papa said about worry. It's a sin, Hildemara! It shows your lack of faith in God! You know what Papa told me before he died? He said every time I felt myself starting to worry, he wanted me to pray. PRAY! That's what I do! Sometimes screaming! I hang on to faith with both fists & pray. It's harder some days than others, but by heavens, I do it!'

' "Look at the birds, Liebling. An eagle flies alone," Mama had told her so many years ago. All right. Life wasn't fair. So what? Life was difficult. It didn't mean she had to become a grumbling old woman dragging her feet all day. She would mount up with wings as an eagle. She would run & not grow weary; she would walk & not faint. She would fly alone & trust God to keep her spirit airborne. Consider it all joy.'
