Inspirational Sunday

It's the start of a new month of Blue Plate Specials at Cookin' UP Creations -- and the October theme is "ROCKIN' THE KITCHEN"!

The Master Chef Challenge Team members will be featuring challenges inspired by favorite music -- song title, lyrics, performers .... if it's music related, you will see it here in October! So put on your favorite CD, clear off your scrap table and get ready to ROCK!

I had today's  challenge for 'Inspirational Sunday'. And I chose the above photo from one of my favorite musicals as today's inspiration. I absolutely LOVE those title letters & knew that was what I was using on my own layout.

The bright colors in my Granny Stripe afghan seemed to go perfectly with the bright colorful letters inspired by the Hairpsray photo. Very clean & simple. I have all the particulars about my afghan written on the backside of this layout. For instance, the names of all the colors I used, how much I paid for each skein of yarn & how long it took me to create this.
These photos of the kids enjoying the rain at King's Dominion this summer were perfect for a challenge where we had to include some of nature's elements. It's also combined with another challenge for 'fussy-cutting'. All the butterflies & border trim were fussy-cut from other paper & added as embellishments here.
This layout of the girls was for Saturday's sketch challenge at CUC & we also had to use a favorite song title for our layout title. I chose 'Picture Perfect' by Michael W. Smith. This one was also combined with another challenge where GREEN had to be the predominant color.

Your afghan is great. I love the photos in the rain at King's Dominion and you probably know I like green (as in your last layout!).
