National Card-Making Day

It was on Saturday & I didn't even know. What a dunce! Anyway....the ladies on our message board decided to give a little prize to those who created some cards in honor of the day. Thank goodness we have until Wednesday to get these done & uploaded to get our name in the hat for the prize. Below are some of the cards that I made today.

A couple of cards that I made with some Nikki Sivils Birthday paper that I won at Cookin' Up Creations. I combined challenges here to use arrows & also to use glitter/stickles.
These two were done using the Mariposa papers from DCWV. The challenges here were to reuse some of your packaging. I used the black/white cardboard that came in a package of transparencies. The other challenge was to use bright colors & bold patterns.
A two-pager of the Frito Lay Company picnic at King's Dominion back in August. Again, I doubled up on some challenges. One was to use the colors of nature: orange, green, brown & turquoise. The other challenge was to use some sort of envie on your layout. I used a small coin envie in the bottom corner to hold my little journaling tag. (Along with our parking ticket for the park.)

Today has been one of those 'Manic Mondays'. Clay had to work. Michael got up & went hunting this morning. He saw a bear that he could've shot....he was actually drawn back on it at 30 yrds. but just wasn't quite sure of his size. Was afraid he was too small, so he didn't shoot. Did school work with the kids. Clay came home a little after lunch & was ready to go hunting this evening with the boys. While they were gone, I scrapped. Fixed chicken enchiladas, rice & broccoli for supper. They came home thinking that Clay had possibly shot a doe. They ate their supper & went back to the woods to look for her. I fixed some Paula Deen peach cobbler to have for dessert. They're back now....no deer, but they found the arrows, so that's good. Off to have some fresh from the oven cobbler. Yum! Who wants some?

Great cards Amy. Greg asked if I'd make their wedding invitations and I'm planning to give Michelle a shower (January 1 when she is visiting Morgantown) Do you have any ideas for either the wedding invitation or the shower invitation?
